This post will conclude our discussion on these principles.

The fourth principle of prosperity in the parable of the talents

After a span of time, the master came and called the servants to give him an account of how they have used the money he gave them. Here is the fourth principle in this parable- accountability, reporting and assessment.

This is very important to prosperity. There should be a room for accountability, reporting and assessment within a period of time; say one year or 6 months as the case may be. This gives you an idea of what you have done thus far; your strength and pitfalls; what you need to improve on and what you need to drop; what is working and what is not. This calls for improvement and a new line of action and/or goals.

It is important you keep records so that you can have a good report. Records are important for accountability and reporting so keep records.

Be honest while assessing yourself and if you know you cannot be honest with yourself, kindly report to a person that will not be biased in assessing you. It is not enough to be assessed alone; there should be recommendations following an assessment.

The fifth principle of prosperity in the parable of the talents

The master rewarded the faithful servants. There should be a rewarding system for you and for those that work with you. Don’t forget to have fun after work. Relax after working. Your motto should not be work, work and work. Give yourself rewards for your labor.

Just a quick one- always pay attention to your health. Taking some time out of work might be a good idea for your health.

The sixth principle of prosperity in the parable of the talents.

The third servant gave an account of his stewardship but blamed his master for his failure. Failures are angry people and they blame every other person and situation for their failure except themselves. There is a principle to learn here. Of course, we are humans and therefore we are bound to fail at one point or the other but what we do with the failure determines if we actually failed or not.

Do not blame any other person for your failure. Learn to take responsibility for your failure. Of course, you should not be mad at yourself for failing but you should be able to analyze the failure; get to know why you failed; learn from it and then work to avoid those things that brought the failure. This is another principle of prosperity. This is one of the reasons for evaluation, assessment and recommendations. Don’t be like the third servant who was angry and blamed every other person except himself for his failure.

The seventh principle of prosperity in the parable of the talents.

The master asked the third servant why he could not at least deposit the money in the bank to yield some interest instead of hiding the money. This is an important principle to take note of. If you cannot do business or trade with your money for one reason or the other, then you should at least deposit it in the bank to yield interest.

You can deposit your money as a savings deposit or a fixed deposit which obviously has different interest rate. I advise that you do not leave your money idle as a savings deposit which might yield close to zero increase rather engage the authority of your bank to fix your money for a higher interest rate and therefore a better increase within a span of time.

Either you deposit your money as a savings or fixed deposit, the bank is using your money for business. Why not share of the profit by fixing the money for a better reward.

The eighth principle of prosperity in the parable of the talents.

This is the last principle I will mention from this parable. The master took the money from the third servant who had no increase and gave it to the servant who now had 10 talents (20,000 dollars). It was then stated that ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.’ This is a principle that operates in life- privileges and substance are taken from those who do not profit and then given to those who know how to profit with their resources.

It is a popular saying that the rich get richer while the poor, poorer. If you don’t want to stay poor, then you need to engage the principles of prosperity, if not that which you have even in lack will be taken and given to those who have. Those who provide value gets from both the rich and poor likewise.

Thus far, we have considered seven principles of prosperity in the parable of the talents. Kindly engage these principles and you will surely reap the rewards.
